Quitting

"You can't quit!" Ai Breen, Frieda Pianas' work colleague and friend, said. "I can." Frieda replied calm. "Why did you study in the first place, if you give up your job as soon as you are getting married?! We don't live in the 50ies!" Frieda, who was Colombian and looked the part, took a sip from her coffee. "It has nothing to do with being a house wife because I'm getting married. Jade believes I'm not invested enough into the company since I was off in November for a long weekend and then I was away for nearly three weeks when I was in Yap and now the request for four and a half months unpaid vacation for my honey moon. I thought it best to quit and afterwards look for a new job." Frieda didn't mention her plans. Coldham Fintan Noose III, her fiancé, and she had agreed to start a family. Frieda was fortunate Fin, as her fiancé was nicknamed, earned enough so that she could resign any time she liked.
"Can't you make a shorter holiday?" "No. I'm only getting married once, Ai. We want it to be very special and create a long lasting memory." "I think I've never heard somebody taking such a long honey moon... I'm jealous!" "I can imagine." Frieda said smiling to her friend. Ai was Japanese, Vietnamese and Irish descent and looked exotic. "Tell me where you're going to again." "Well, we start with Dublin for a few days, followed by around 3 weeks in Scotland, a few days in London and Paris and then moving on to Singapore, Malaysia, Brunei, Thailand, Myanmar, Laos, Vietnam, Hong Kong and Tokyo." "Wow, can I ask how you financed this all?" "Different ways. We are lucky, because Fin's security business is thriving, so we could invest some money and grow it thanks to intelligent advice. We also spent frugal and could save a bit more. Now we earn the fruits and can afford a really expensive honey moon." Ai, who was a feminist, understood Frieda's reasoning. She was sad her work colleague was leaving. It was going to be a less pleasant work environment without Frieda. Ai still believed Frieda was wasting her talents by quitting.

Just confirming

This story picks up where "Just checking" left. If you want to what was stolen and who was Mr. Noose's client, please read "The Heirloom".

When Patsy Loesing had checked out her new driver, she found some inconsistencies and further investigations revealed he owned a security company. Mrs. Patsy assumed the driver had been engaged by her son Kenneth to protect the family from a threat, like a kidnapping or assassination.
She wanted it confirmed, but didn't dare broaching the subject directly. Kenneth had returned from a vacation with his family, so she thought talking about him now.
Kenneth was sitting at the breakfast table with his wife Anna and his older sons Wylie and Johnny. When the kids were gone and Anna busy with filling the dishwasher, Mrs. Patsy took her chances. Filling her cup with coffee, Mrs. Patsy asked: "Are we in danger, Kenny?" Kenneth looked up and frowned. "Not more than usual." Mrs. Patsy interpreted Kenneth's comment as confirmation that there was a threat to the family and Mr. Noose, the driver, was there to look out for them.
It came as no surprise when the driver left shortly afterwards. It was a relief to know the issue had gone away.

Mrs. Patsy never found out the driver wasn't there to protect the family. He was a cat burglar and on his own mission. When he had stolen, what he was looking for, he left.

Who is the Mama? A different scenario

This is more what I had originally in mind. If you like, you can leave feedback which one you prefer. :)

At the play ground Stephanie Hatch and Samantha Flanagan watched the new arrivals. They came to the conclusion that the adult accompanying the little boy was the nanny, because she was Hispanic, and he was blond and didn't look anything like her. They followed them at each visit and were disgusted, when they once heard the boy called his nanny Mommy and spoke a mix of Spanish and English. The parents of the little one didn't spend too much time with him and he didn't learn proper English. It was a shame!

One day Samantha and Stephanie arrived later. The nanny and little Sol were already there. Sam and Stevie had overheard the nanny call the boy by this name. Sol was playing in the sand box, while nanny was reading a book - trash as the two ladies assumed. Suddenly a blond man approached the nanny from behind and put his hands on her shoulders, kissing her throat. Sol had seen, who had arrived and came running, shouting: "Daddy! Daddy!" The resemblance couldn't have been stronger. Sol looked exactly like his dad. The blond man stepped away from the bench, knelt down and opened his arms wide to catch the little boy and give him a kiss.
Stevie and Sam had to revise their assumption, because the man and the "nanny" kissed each other and left holding hands together with Sol. It seemed the lady was really Sol's mother.

Who is the Mama?

This one took me a bit longer to write and the characters had a different idea how the story should develop, but I think it is overall a good one. Enjoy the drama!

Samantha Flanagan and Stephanie Hatch were the queens of the play ground. They were by far the wealthiest mothers in the area and enjoyed to hold court together. Sam and Stevie were best friends since their school days, had the same conservative taste, married in the same year and managed to have children the same age. Both were faked blonds, medium height and brown eyed.

Everyday routine dictated that they went in the late afternoon to the play ground with the kids. They took their favorite seat on a bench, from where they could supervise their offspring. There was a new arrival.
Sam and Stevie came to the conclusion the adult accompanying the small blond boy was his nanny. She was Hispanic, so it was impossible she was the mother. Sam and Stevie looked down at the woman. They were too fine to talk with a simple employee.

The nanny let her charge off and after watching him closely for a few minutes, she took out a book. Neither of the two ladies could make out what it was the nanny was reading, but they assumed it was trash.

Stevie talked for a bit with one of her cronies, while Sam looked out for her two daughters and Stevie's kids.
Cassie, Stevie's daughter, was climbing on the same net as the new boy was. He was too young to get up further than a few steps. Sam thought it was irresponsible of the nanny to let him do that alone. She was too far away to prevent an accident should he loose his balance and fall off. After a while the nanny put away her book and went over to the boy. They walked together to the swings. The baby sitter pushed, but not too hard. The kid giggled with delight.

Following their schedule it was time for the Flanagan's and Hatch's to go home.

The next afternoon the nanny and boy were back. They played in the sand pit and used the slide. It was unbelievable the woman was sliding as well. They also climbed together and had fun on the swings.
She was still ignored by the other mothers. Stevie and Sam hadn't made any signs the nanny was welcome in their circle, so the others followed Sam's and Stevie's example. Offending one of them could mean exclusion from dinner parties and the loss of opportunities to network for the respective husband(s).

The same happened over the next days. Once the boy and the nanny were playing catch around the bench, where Mrs. Flanagan and Mrs. Hatch were sitting. They realized the woman spoke Spanish with the boy. It made Mrs. Hatch frown. She didn't approve of kids being influenced and brainwashed by foreign subjects.
What were the toddler's parents thinking?!

A week or so later the Hispanic had arrived earlier and broke an unknown law - she and the little boy were sitting on the bench reserved for Stevie and Sam. They drank iced tea from plastic cups and read a picture book.

"Hey, taco, that's our space." Mrs. Hatch said. The woman looked up. She said something in Spanish. Neither Sam nor Stevie spoke a foreign language. Oh, that nanny was an illegal immigrant, who was uneducated and didn't speak a word English! Sam gesticulated to another bench. When the Mexican didn't move, Stevie tried to make clear they wanted her to get going by pulling the nanny's sleeve and indicated with her finger the other seating space. The lady shook her head. She was going to stay. Since Stevie and Sam were too dignified to use force, they gave in and moved. The round was lost for them. Only later did they realize they had made themselves laughing stocks among the other parents. They didn't see they had been racist and their childish behavior of wanting "their" bench had lost them points. They thought they had lost ground, because they were beaten by a stupid Latina.

Stevie and Sam were glad when the nanny and her charge didn't show up for a while.

Naturally the little boy was back sooner than Sam and Stevie appreciated. Maeve, Sam's youngest daughter, and he were playing peaceful in the sandbox. Since Sam and Stevie didn't know who the boy's parents were, they let them go ahead. You never knew how influential the boy's parents were...
On the way back Sam asked Maeve about the boy. "His name is Sol. He's nice." Maeve, who was four, explained. Stevie estimated Sol was maybe two to three. In Sam's opinion the family must be Jewish based Sol's name. She guessed it was short for Solomon. She also combined Jewish meant wealthy, so if Stevie and she were on their best behavior towards Sol, maybe they could gain influence for their husbands.

The next day Sol was so nice and shared a kind of cheese stick and apple slices with Maeve and Henry, Stevie's son, who was also four, when they were hungry.

Kelly O'Rear had been interested from the start in the newcomers, but hadn't dared disobeying Stevie and Sam. When they weren't there, she cautiously approached the lady. Kelly wasn't sure, if she was disturbing her. The woman was reading a book. "Hola." Kelly said. The Hispanic looked up and replied the greeting with an encouraging smile. Kelly introduced herself in broken Spanish and asked if she could sit down. "I'm Frieda Noose. Of course you can take a seat." Kelly was surprised Frieda spoke fluently English without an accent. Frieda seemed to be from the Northern part of the US or maybe Canada. "What are you reading?" asked Kelly. Frieda showed her the title. It was a book about Bear Sterns. In fact Frieda was reading two other books as well. One was about the New York Yankees, her favorite baseball team, and one called "The Help". "And you understand what you're reading?" Kelly blurted out. It wasn't because she believed Frieda was stupid. It had been always difficult for Kelly to understand business terms. She was glad her husband took care of anything to do with finances.
Kelly realized what she just said could be interpreted differently than she intended. "I mean... I mean..." Kelly stammered. Frieda grinned. "Yes, I do." "So you're studying business and to support yourself you are working during the day as a nanny?" Frieda burst out laughing. Kelly looked hurt, so Frieda apologized. "Sorry. No, Sol is my son, and I've got a degree in Electrical Engineering." "But are you working?" "No, I'm a stay at home mom. Besides Sol I also have a six year old daughter called Casey. Sol has turned two a couple of months ago. What about you?" "Well, I've got Alexander, Matthew and David. They are nine, seven and five. I was good at languages, so I studied that for a couple of years before I met my husband, got married and soon Alexander was under way..." Sometimes Kelly was sorry she hadn't kept up with Spanish and Arabic. She had forgotten most of it. The two women talked for a while until it was time for David and Kelly to go home.

Frieda changed the times when she arrived with Sol at the playground. She wanted to avoid Sam and Stevie. Frieda couldn't say she liked them very much.
Instead she developed a close friendship with Kelly, who managed also to come earlier. They started to refresh Kelly's Spanish. It improved dramatically.
Sometimes they went out together or invited each others families for dinner. Kelly was very proud, when she received a compliment about her lasagna. It was her family's favorite dish. Frieda's husband Fin was mostly absent. When Kelly met him the first time, she was amazed how strong genes could be. Sol was the spitting image of his father. Casey looked very much like her mother. Kelly thought Sol had inherited Frieda's calm and pleasant character. Casey was livelier and could hold her own against Alexander and Matthew, who sometimes teased her. It was good for the boys to have contact with a girl. They had to learn that they had to treat the opposite sex a bit different than themselves.

When Kelly least expected it, she received a visit. "Hello, Kelly." Stevie said. Her smile didn't reach her eyes. Of course she hadn't come alone. Sam was with her. Kelly really didn't have time. She had to collect Alexander from school and drop off a few garments at the dry cleaners. "We haven't seen you for a longer time, Kelly..." Sam said. "We just wanted to check if you are okay." Stevie added with faked concern. "Sure, I'm okay." "Honey, we've heard rumors that you have gone to the dark side." Sam suggested. "Dark side? I don't know what you are talking about." "Well, you've been seen hanging out with a lowly employee..." Sam said. "Didn't we make it clear you should avoid the Mexican nanny?" Stevie questioned. Kelly snorted. She knew by now that Frieda was Colombian. "What is so funny?" Stevie shot at Kelly. She didn't think it was funny at all and if she had anything to say Sam and she were going to make sure Kelly would be shunned, if she didn't stop her disgraceful behavior. "Nothing." Kelly said, still grinning, because she was looking forward to when Sam and Stevie found out their prejudices were unfounded. "So have you befriended the nanny?" Stevie asked. "If you need to know, yes, and I must say I enjoy her company much more than yours." Stevie and Sam were astounded. Normally Kelly had been always very pliable and followed what Sam and Stevie ordered. They didn't know what had happened there. "If you aren't careful, Kelly, we aren't going to invite you to our next dinner party, and you know what it might mean for Laszlo. Didn't he want a promotion?" Sam implied. Laszlo was Kelly's husband. Dyllan, Sam's husband, was in a position to give a huge building contract. Laszlo worked for a construction company and was after that contract. Laszlo had been promised a promotion to vice president, if he managed to get it. Kelly had enough of being offered the carrot or the stick for years, so she lost her temper and said: "You know what? Stick it up your rear end! I've enough of your dominating, prejudiced and racist behavior! Out!" "Okay, I'll drop a word to Dyllan." Sam seethed. "And you are an outcast from now on!" Stevie threatened. "Alright, out!" Kelly shouted. Sam and Stevie were worried Kelly would get hands on and remove them forcefully, so they left. The door crashed close behind them.
They started their attack immediately.

Kelly realized what she had done, when her anger had dissipated. What was she going to do? Oh god! She had ruined her life! On the other side it felt good to get her resentment off her chest. Kelly decided to go to the park to have a think about how to deal with the situation. On the way she met Frieda's husband. He looked tired, but recognized her and asked if she was okay. At first she wanted to say everything was okay, but for some reason she blurted out the truth. "Start a counter offensive." Thinking about it Kelly came to the conclusion she had nothing to loose. Kelly found out Dyllan's phone number and called him, explaining what had transpired between Sam and herself and begged Dyllan to stay open minded, and not let his judgment be clouded by anything Sam might say to him. Dyllan promised to keep business and private separate. Kelly could now only hope for the best.

Sam's and Stevie's plan worked only partly. Dyllan told Sam off for behaving stupid and acting like she was a kindergartener and not a mother.
The neighborhood was split into two fractions. Around half fell into line and ignored Kelly, the other half started to rebel and didn't obey. It frustrated the friends at no end. They were upset they were loosing their power and didn't know how to stem the tide.

Stevie and Sam were excited, when they both received an invitation to a garden party of Sol's parents. They were looking forward to meet the Nooses and wanted to shine in their best light. Both went to great length to look beautiful. They had a facial, manicure and pedicure, a wrap that made the skin glow and bought new dresses. Their make up was impeccable.

The big afternoon arrived. Stevie and Sam were getting both nervous and excited. What should they bring as a gift? Dyllan suggested a cigar, which made Sam giggle. Her husband loved them and thought all men wanted the same. In the end they went for flowers and a bottle of wine. Stevie and Michael had the same idea. Mr. Noose opened the door and welcomed his guests. He was tall and blond with blue grey eyes. He was cold towards the ladies, but warm to the husbands. Maybe he was a men's man.
Mr. Noose introduced his wife, Frieda. Sam and Stevie recognized her immediately. They were shocked the nanny wasn't a nanny after all. Frieda greeted them, but wasn't very friendly. When Stevie and Sam realized their mistake they felt very embarrassed and naturally changed their tack. They apologized and claimed the incident about the bench had been a joke. The penetrating stares from their respective husbands and the Nooses made them squirm. Frieda didn't accept their apology and said: "Ha-ha, very funny! I found your behavior very upsetting and discriminating. Maybe I should talk to a lawyer..." "Please don't! Tell us what we can do to make it right!" Sam begged. "I expect you apologize to Kelly for your horrible behavior and stop the campaign against her immediately. Don't meddle in other people's affairs and treat them with respect. If you manage that, we can talk again." Stevie promised to change her attitude and Sam followed suit. "Alright, I'll keep a close eye on you and should I hear you threaten anyone, I'm going to my lawyer, who would be more than happy to drag you to court."
Frieda's husband seemed amused, which the rest couldn't understand. What they didn't know was, that he normally used such tactics to get people back in line or do his biding. Frieda had learned from the master.
"Kelly is in the garden." Frieda told them. Kelly wasn't alone - all the neighbors were also there. Kelly didn't make apologizing easier for Sam and Stevie and didn't want to go inside, so they had no choice and were forced to say sorry in public. It was really humiliating for them. They wished the earth would open up and swallow them. Unfortunately nothing like this happened. When it was decent, the Flanagan's and Hatch's left the party. The standing of Stevie and Sam within the community had changed forever.

Dog Cupid

Kiki is back for a new adventure. Hope it makes you smile. :)

Reginald Christopher Smith - Reggie, as he preferred to be called - loved dogs. He had grown up with them and couldn't do without a pet, so when his last dog died, he picked up a puppy from a dog charity. She was now half a year old and kept him on the go. Reggie had named the Yorkshire Terrier Kiki.
Well, one day he took her for a walk. They were strolling along Miami Beach , when they passed a lady around Reggie's age. Kiki - as always inquisitive - sniffed at the ladies legs, tail wagging. "Oh, it is so cute!" The lady exclaimed, offering her hand to Kiki. The dog suddenly raised her leg and peed on the expensive shoes of the lady. Reggie pulled Kiki away and chided her. He was thoroughly embarrassed. Reggie apologized profoundly to Kiki's victim. Reggie thought he had seen a grin on the lady's face, but wasn't entirely sure. It was gone too quickly.  "Well, you have to take me out for dinner to make up for it." Reggie agreed readily. What he saw, he liked. Butterflies were dancing in his stomach. That hadn't happened for a long time. Bailey Mumford-Nuss was slightly smaller than him, grey haired and had blue green eyes and a sensuous mouth. Reggie guessed she was slightly younger than him.
Bailey opened her handbag, withdrew a note book and pen. She scribbled her phone number on one of the pages and tore it out. "Here, call me and I want your phone number too, so you won't escape your duty!" Bailey ordered. Reggie wasn't used to being bossed around, but enjoyed Bailey's assertiveness. He gave her one of his business cards. Bailey took it with both hands and studied it careful.
"I'll hear from you sooner or later, Mr. Smith." She smiled and walked away.
When Bailey was out of earshot, Reggie said to Kiki: "I don't know if I should strangle you or praise you..."
Reggie called three days after the incident. He would have preferred to phone the same evening, but thought it imprudent. Reggie didn't want to be seen as too keen.

When they met they spent a very pleasant evening together. They enjoyed each others company and went out together more often. He realized he was falling in love with Bailey. Reggie was surprised about himself.  Normally he preferred women much younger than he was and with big breasts. Bailey didn't fulfill any of the criteria.
He was married once and had had his fair share of affairs, but he hadn't been in a serious relationship for ages. There was also the problem that he had never managed to be faithful to his partners.
Reggie worried he was going to hurt Bailey and shied away from admitting he cared more for her than he did.
In the end it was up to Bailey to broach the subject. They were walking with Kiki and Beulah, Bailey's mongrel, along the same path, where they had first met. Bailey stopped. "Reggie, you see, we've been going out steady for a while..." "Hmh." Reggie grunted. He wasn't very good talking about his feelings. "I miss you, when you and Kiki aren't with me. You are a true gent. I've fallen in love with you." She didn't dare looking up into Reggie's eyes. Picking up her courage Bailey raised hers. "I... I love you too." Reggie's voice was gruff. It was hard to admit. They kissed to seal the beginning of their relationship.

Soon afterwards Reggie and Kiki moved in with Bailey.
It wasn't much later when Bailey caught Reggie flirting with a much younger and attractive woman. Bailey simply laughed and said she was okay with it. Reggie was relieved, having feared originally she would bite off his head and throw him out.
One thing changed, though, since Bailey meant the world to Reggie, he didn't have sex with someone else. Yes, he flirted, but that's where it stopped.

Mike's spanking

It's spanking time again! This is a story about Mike, Fin's brother. Hope you like it. :)

Holiday Michael Noose feared going home. He had received a bad grade and was sure his parents were going to kill him, so he decided to run away.
Mike, as the ten year old was nick named, went to their home in Miami with his 11 months older brother Coldham Fintan.
Instead of sitting with his brother at the kitchen table and start doing his homework, Mike went packing.
He had saved thirty dollars. He counted the money careful and put it away in his pouch. Mike chose his favorite t-shirt and a trouser as well as fresh underwear, a comic and a torch and stored it in his back pack.
He then sneaked into the pantry, taking a few apples, a large bottle of lemonade, frankfurters and bread.
He was a bit sad, but was ready for a big adventure and knew exactly where he was going to.
Mike wasn't worried his parents would miss him.

He turned left onto Old Cutler Road and headed north east, passing the Presbyterian Church. He was on Mitchell Drive and very near his destination, the Deering Bay Yacht Club, when a car stopped beside him. It was his mother. "Get in, Holiday Michael!" She ordered him, barely keeping her temper in check.
The ride home was completely silent. Mike knew he was in big trouble. He clenched and unclenched his bottom in anticipation. Mike was sure he was going to be spanked. What had he been thinking? Mike felt very sorry for himself. He wished he had managed to sneak onto one of the yachts and sail far, far away.

"Go to your room, Holiday Michael. Your father and I are going to deal with you when he returns from looking for you." "Yes, Ma'am." Beverly Noose parked the car in the garage. Mike hurried to his room.

Beverly knew her husband Coldham would be back within in the next twenty minutes. They had come up with a plan, when they realized Mike had been missing. He was searching to the west, she to the east and return within half an hour to see, if they had been able to locate Mike. Since they were going to punish their younger son, they wanted to give him privacy. Fin, as the older son was called, was going to be in the way. Beverly went calmly into the kitchen. Fin had finished his homework and was reading a book. Beverly sighed. She wished Fin was livelier and had a lot of friends like Mike. Unfortunately her older son was introvert. It didn't matter at the moment. "Honey, why don't you go to Barnes and Nobles? Here is fifty dollar. You can spend them on anything you like." Fin wasn't stupid and knew his brother was in trouble. His parents wanted to get rid of him. Since it was one of the few occasions he wasn't the reason for their scorn he smirked and hoped Mike was going to get it good. Fin was also happy about the fifty dollars he could invest into books. It was rarely his parents gave him gifts out of the blue. Couldn't Mike be more often in trouble?
Fin took the money, thanked his mother politely and left the house. Beverly had told him he could take his time.

Coldham arrived back a bit sooner than Beverly estimated. They discussed briefly how to proceed. Then they went up to Mike's room.
Mike was sitting on his bed starring a hole in the wall.
First Beverly asked why Mike had run away. When Mike's parents heard it was because of a bad grade, they re-assured him it wasn't the end of the world and promised if he needed help they were going to support him. What was left was Mike's spanking, because he ran away. Coldham stated they were worried sick when they realized he was gone. "Imagine what could have happened! You could have been hurt or killed in an accident or somebody might have kidnapped you. You caused us so much grief! We both think you need to learn a lesson here. You can't run away from your problems, so please remove your pants and underpants completely. You won't need them for some time." Mike had the same feeling. He blushed a bit, because he felt embarrassed when he thought about standing naked from the waist down in front of his parents. Normally they simply asked him to pull down his trousers and when he was over either his mother's or father's knee, he had to raise his hips and they lowered his underwear as well.
Mike obeyed. His mother took the cloth from him and folded them neatly, then put them away. Mike was very body conscious. Thank goodness he was wearing a long t-shirt so his genitals were hidden from view.  "Your father is going to give you thirty smacks." Beverly told Mike. Coldham took a seat on his son's bed. He signaled Mike to bend over his knees. Reluctantly Mike obeyed. He hated being in that position, but was glad his mother wasn't going to punish him. She was the harder spanker. After a few adjustments Mike's behind offered the perfect target. Coldham pulled Mike's t-shirt up a bit, so it wasn't in the way or offered any protection.
Coldham looked down at Mike's white bottom. It wasn't going to stay that way for long. Coldham raised his hand and brought it down hard on Mike's right buttock. He waited about ten seconds before smacking the same spot again. Coldham changed to the left cheek.  Mike only reacted from the fifth slap. He squirmed slightly and a soft moan escaped. Coldham changed the rhythm to a faster pace, but still as hard. The spanks echoed in the room. Mike tried to be brave about it, to keep still and not to cry out. It was tough. The heat built up considerately after what Mike guessed was the eleventh slap. He squirmed more and to his chagrin cried out. He couldn't keep his voice down. The pace slowed down again, making Mike much more aware of the pain caused by his already stinging behind and the continued assault on it. His eyes filled with tears and finally they rolled down his face.
For the last few spanks Coldham concentrated on Mike's sit spots. They made Mike cry harder and if Coldham wouldn't have held Mike in place Mike would have slid to the ground, escaping his fair punishment.
After the 30th slap Beverly and Coldham admired his handiwork. It was understandable Mike was sobbing. His behind was fire red and hot to the touch.
"Now, now, you're punishment is over, darling." Beverly said soothing and Coldham circled Mike's back in soft circles. "Everything is forgiven, Mike. You can get up." Coldham added. Mike didn't want to move. He was very sore. "Take your time." Beverly ruffled his hair. After a minute or so Mike had his tears better under control and felt ready to stand up. He wanted nearness and hugged his father. He mumbled into his dad's shirt: "I'm sorry, Dad." "That's okay, honey, we all make mistakes and you have paid for it. I love you, Mike." "I love you too, Dad." Coldham hugged Mike even tighter, then released him, grabbed a tissue from Mike's night stand and wiped away the tears.
Beverly hugged Mike briefly and then suggested he should go to bed.
Mike was within minutes asleep on his stomach. When he woke up the next morning he wasn't in pain and all was forgiven and forgotten.

Flutes, Terminal 2 Dublin Airport, Dublin, Ireland

Our favorite place to eat before a flight at Dublin Airport is Flutes. It's located in Terminal 2 and a small place.

We had so far always breakfast at Flutes due to our flight times. Later in the day there are sandwiches, tapas and other meat/cheese plates as well as wine and champagne flights available.

The decor is modern, light and thanks to the location very airy.  The heart of the restaurant is the bar island with high chairs. Customers can also choose to sit at tables surrounding the island in a half oval.

To order customers have to go to the island. The member of staff is then delivering the order to the table and when you are finished you return to the island to pay. Cash and credit cards are accepted. Staff also clears the tables.

During our last visit we had 2 cappuccinos, one Continental Platter, consisting of ham, brie and Gubbeen cheese, a small fruit salad and natural yogurt, a croissant and jam. It also includes a glass of orange juice, so we had to pay only for the second one. We ordered additionally toast and the crunchy granola with Boyne Valley honey.

On this occasion we paid 25.30 Euro (ca. 33.15 USD)

We like Flutes because it offers always high quality, healthy and tasty food. Service is quick and friendly.

Space is a bit limited due to the small size of the tables. In my opinion this is the only inconvenience.
