The Perfectionists' Cafe, London Heathrow, Terminal 2, The Queens Terminal, United Kingdom

This is a combined review of two visits to The Perfectionists' Cafe so far for lunch in February and June 2016.

The Perfectionists' Cafe is located in Terminal 2, The Queen's Terminal, at London Heathrow Airport [LHR].

The restaurant concept is inspired by Heston Blumenthal's TV series "Perfection" which was screened at Channel 4 in the UK and Ireland.

The location is ideally on the upper floor, just after security with views over the stunning terminal interior.

We like the contemporary design and the creative wall mural, depicting Heston Blumenthal in his chef's whites and figuring out how to make nitro ice cream.

During our two visits the staff was friendly and efficient.

Once we were seated in a booth and once at a communal table with the next couple sitting at the other end.

We tried two cocktails in a cloud, the Bramble with a Merlot cloud and the Summer Shrub with a mandarin & thyme non-alcoholic cloud. The Bramble came with Miller's Gin, Tyrian purple mure, lemon and Peychaud's Bitters, while the Summer Shrub was a blend of strawberry, red wine vinegar and raspberry. The clouds were added via a spray container, causing some drama. The smell, for example, of the Bramble was suddenly much stronger on the red wine note.

Of course we tried also pizza. He had the La Notizia, including smoked provola, caciovallo, speck roast peppers, Luganega sausage, pecorino and garlic oil, but no tomato. I had the Alici with no cheese, but tomato, olive, salted and smoked anchovies, oregano and garlic.

They were very delicious and come highly recommended.

During our second visit we had The Perfectionists' Cafe Burger and Hansen & Lydersen Smoked Salmon.

The burger was impressive, because it was highly stacked, but didn't fall apart, like most others do.

The salmon was presented understated on a wooden board with finely cut onions, capers, lemon and rye bread on the side.

The cream cheese was served in a little bowl. Again the quality was good and the main courses satisfying.

The BFG Nitro Sundae was so good we had it twice. BFG stands for Black Forest Gateau. It was served with a Kirsch atomizer to bring the smell of the Black Forest out. It's fascinating that ice cream can be made within seconds.

A budget between 50 GBP and 70 GBP (between ca. 60.40 Euro and 84.50 Euro or ca. 66.80 USD and 93.50 USD) served us well.

When flying from the Queens Terminal we will prefer go to The Perfectionists' Cafe and most likely try something new as well.
