Dilemma

What would you do, if your best friend asks you, if he can have sex with your partner? Let's find out how Fin reacts...

Coldham Fintan "Fin" Noose III and Giovanni Fabini had been best friends since meeting at high school.
Fin had introduced his mistress Chastity Shelton to Giovanni, who promptly fell for her. It wasn't one sided. Giovanni didn't mind having a threesome with Fin and Chastity or that Chastity and Fin sometimes had casual sex. He was just wondering, if Fin would be so open.

Giovanni gave Fin a slap on the shoulder. He smiled. "Don't worry, Fin. She has only eyes for you, and I won't ask her."
Fin was relieved. Giovanni was also glad, because he knew it would have meant a huge sacrifice for his best friend and alone the willingness to give was enough for Giovanni.

The Fund

Ivan and Sam Richards are at loggerheads again. This time Sam is an adult and its about money. But is everything as it seems?

"If you are going to marry Hue, I'm going to disinherit you." Ivan Richards told his grandson Samuel, who was very upset. "Before you loose your temper, let me finish. I thought about what we discussed during your last visit. I know what you are going to do, no matter what my opinion is." "And what am I going to do?" Samuel asked, still on the verge of loosing his temper. "You are going to adopt her children and support them." "And you think I won't do that, if you disinherit me?" Samuel's face had flushed. His voice showed outrage. "Let me continue. I thought I make it easier for you. You probably haven't spent much thought on college funding for Roscoe and Tina or any other subsequent kids. I have, so I'll transfer your part of the fund to them." Ivan Richards had a fund for all of his grandchildren. He continued: "If, as you say, money isn't so important for you, you won't mind." Slowly Sam's grandfather's words sank in. Sam was grateful. He really didn't need the fund, and in all honesty his relationship with Hue was only very short going on, so he hadn't made so far reaching plans for the future besides wanting to marry Hue. Grandpa's idea was good, though. "Thank you." Sam said. He was glad the kids education was covered, but hoped his grandfather lived for many years to come.

Two continents united - Fusion Cuisine

So this is something completely else. I have already entertained you with some cocktails my better half created. This one is a dish we made yesterday. I was EW's right hand lady. He's a perfectionist with high standards, so working together with him can be sometimes difficult... ;-). Anyway this receipt bridges Europe (Spain) with Asia (Thailand, China). Tell me if you tried it and if it was to your taste. A lot of people would say this ingredients are odd and don't work together. I loved it, though, and thought it is worth sharing. This is for two people.

What you need:


1 tortilla espanola (Spanish potato omelet, either self made or shop bought, we had shop bought)
1 pack stir fry (your choice, we had a cabbage, broccoli, red onion mix)
1 stir fry sauce (in our case Amoy Thai Chili Sauce)
1 chorizo, ca. 200 g (Spanish spicy sausage; ring chorizo is preferable over sliced one, tastes better in our opinion, but it's up to you.)
oil
a frying pan
a wok
3 plates

How to make it:

We cooked this in batches, because we only have a small kitchen.

Slice the chorizo into bite sized pieces, heat oil and fry the chorizo until it's through and piping hot. Set aside.
Cook the tortilla espanola as instructed, if you use a shop bought one. Set also aside, but keep it warm.
Heat oil in the wok and stir fry the vegetables, according to the packaging.
Add the sauce and when it's nearly finished, add the chorizo.
Divide the stir fry on two plates, leave some space for the tortilla.
Cut the tortilla into 4 quarters, place one of the slices at the empty space of the plate, the other goes on top of the stir fry. Repeat with the second plate.

Red - Part 5

It has been ages ago that I wrote Red Part 1 to 4. Now I had  the time to finish the story. Hope you enjoy reading the adventures of the cat Dante.

Again I was sitting at the window sill at the kitchen. I hadn't seen Red for months and thought she was gone forever. Suddenly I saw her. A man was after her and tried to catch her. I hoped she was going to escape. Just in case I thought I better inform Sam. First I had to find him. He was in the living room, working on his newest novel. The door was closed, so I scratched on it. It always gets his attention, because he doesn't like it, when I'm doing it. I also shouted. It didn't take very long for Sam to emerge. "What's going on, Dante? I don't have time." He was a little bit short. I told him Red was in danger, and I wanted his help. He didn't understand a word, so I went towards the entrance and back, meowing. Sam still didn't get it. I had seen Rocky, a dog and a friend, directing his master in the right direction, so I went to Sam, bit into his trouser and pushed a bit. "Dante, what's wrong with you?" He was getting angry. I let go and went again to the door. Slowly my servant understood I wanted his attention. Thank goodness he followed me. I went outside. He was hot on my heels. The man had snatched Red and put her into a cage. I hoped Sam could do something to help her. He stopped dead in his tracks looking from me to Red. "Hey, you! What are you doing with my cat?" He shouted at the stranger. The man hadn't been prepared for that. "Umh, she was straying in the area for a couple of days now..." "So just because Kitty likes to be out and about, you thought you could take her? What were you planning to do with her?" Sam was outraged or pretended to be. The guy wasn't used to it. He stammered he was just doing his job. "And what is your job?" Sam interrogated. "I work for an animal shelter." "Really? What's the name, and do you have an ID? I want to see it." The man took a step back. He had been lying. "Why don't I simply give back your Kitty, and we forget about it?" "Alright." Red knew what was at stake, when she was released from the cage. She accepted it, when Sam picked her up and scratched her behind the ears.
Red was thankful. Her ears pricked, when Sam told her she could stay, if he couldn't locate her owner, so Red was soon a family member. Sometimes we were fighting, but mostly we enjoyed each others company. She was different from me. Her favorite human was Hue , Sam's fiancée, while my contact was Sam, but I also liked the kids. She was weary of Alyssa, the youngest daughter of the house. Because Alyssa was very small, she didn't know how to deal with us cats and could be sometimes rough or wanted to eat our food. I took it cool, but it was upsetting for Red.
Well, of course Sam didn't forget about the man and warned the neighbors about the stranger.

Discussions

Well, the novel I am writing is as you all know about Coldham Fintan "Fin" Noose III. In it I briefly mentioned Fin gets a spanking. I thought I write a more detailed short story about it, so if you don't like the spanking of kids, don't go further here.

Fin was crying. The spanking hadn't even started yet. He was angry, though, and very humiliated, which triggered the tears.
Fin had believed he could discuss politics and other things with his grandfather, who treated him still like baby, and saw the twelve year old's attempts to be taken seriously as talk back. Fin had been warned by his parents he would be caned, if he had one more run in with his grandfather. Fin didn't listen - or he did, but thought he could get his revenge and away with it. He was wrong. Fin said to his grandfather Coldham F.: "Can I tell you a joke?" "Sure." Fin asked for Coldham F.'s hand. "Okay, these are the mountains." Fin indicated the fingers. The lines of the hand were the "rivers". "What is missing?" Coldham F. didn't know. "The water, of course." Fin replied and spit into Coldham F.'s hand. His grandfather was outraged and was tempted to pull Fin over his lap for a sound hand spanking. Because Fin wasn't his kid, and Coldham F. was sure his son or daughter in law wouldn't like it, when he took over Fin's correction, he told them instead. Fin wasn't given the chance to explain himself. He was ordered to wait in his room until his parents would call him.
Around ten minutes later his mother shouted up he had to come to the living room. Fin was unhappy his grandfather and parents were present. They were seated on the sofa. Fin was forced to stand in front of his grandfather and was lectured by him. At the same time Coldham F. opened the button and zipper of Fin's pant, pulled it down and followed suit with Fin's underpants. Fin's shirt didn't cover his front or backside, and he was now half naked. It was very embarrassing and humiliating for Fin. His father told him to leave his hands on the sides; no covering up was allowed. Coldham F. said full of scorn: "You can be glad I'm not responsible for your discipline. If I would be, I would warm your butt for you before caning you." Fin's mother took hold of Fin's arm and took him to the end of the sofa. Fin was forced to hobble, because his clothing was tangling around his ankles. He was bursting into tears, because he felt so ashamed and angry. Fin also feared that whichever parent was taking care of the punishment was using stronger force than usual to show his grandfather the caning was hard enough.
Beverly bent her son over the arm rest, while his father went to retrieve the cane. "Your father is going to give you four cuts." Beverly told Fin. Her son was partly glad. His parents didn't seem to think it was necessary to increase the number of strokes. Four was the average. Fin could live with that, but knew he was going to be in agony for some time. The cane his parents used was thin and springy. Fin still ended up with tram lines and bruises, lasting for generally a week to one and a half weeks. After most spankings Fin was unable to sit for the rest of the day. Sometimes, when the caning was especially hard, it was longer. Fin didn't have to dwell further how much it was going to hurt. Coldham was back. Fin heard the familiar sound of the cane whistling through the air. He guessed based on the swishing it was going to be a hard stroke. Fin had been right. The cane landed in the center of Fin's behind. The fire, the stroke ignited, was barely tolerable. Fin didn't scream, but more tears escaped. He was disappointed in himself. How could it happen he was crying? Normally he had himself under tight control until he was back on his room and alone. He hated to show any weakness in front of his parents. They drew satisfaction from every tear Fin shed.
When the pain from the first stroke subsided, Coldham lined up the next one. The tram line was throbbing and merging with the ache of the first. The third stripe appeared on Fin's sit spots and made him nearly jump up. Of course he didn't, instead he started to sob, hating himself and his parents for it. The last cut was landing only a fraction above the third stroke and was very, very hard. Fin's entire bottom felt on fire and was throbbing. He was glad it was over. After a few moments of respite, Fin was hauled to his feet by his mother, briefly hugged and told he was loved and forgiven. Then she dressed him, causing a fresh flood of tears, because Fin's buttocks were swollen, and she wasn't careful enough. "Please apologize to grandfather for your bad behavior." Coldham said. Fin was still crying and shook his head. "No." He didn't see why he should. He had already paid for being fresh to Coldham F. "I'll give you a choice, Coldham Fintan: Either you apologize right now or your grandfather gets his wish and is going to take you over his knees. What is it going to be?" Fin didn't have to think long about his mother's offer. He apologized under duress and gave all adults present a hateful glare. Grandpa said to Fin: "I accept and hope you have learned your lesson. I would be sorry, if you would have to be punished again." Fin didn't believe it. "Okay, you can go to your room now." Coldham said, after briefly hugging Fin, who was stiff in the embrace.

Fin's behavior towards his grandfather changed. He never trusted him again and kept away from him as much as possible.

Another 30 Seconds

Ristorante Milano Savini, Milan, Italy

Here is another restaurant review. For all, who have read the Park Hyatt Milan review, know we were at Savini's. I thought it was a positive experience with a minor glitch and to let you know about it.

When we explored the Galleria Vittorio Emanuel II. we saw the restaurant Savini. We decided we wanted to try it out. It looked inviting. They enticed us with their large chocolate and fine food selection. It was also always full.

I found out a little bit of the history of the restaurant. The founder was Virgil Savini, who originated from Cuvio in Varese. He was born in 1852. The Savini was always located at the Galleria. In 1881 Virgil Savini bought a brewery and opened it as Ristorante Milano Savini in 1884. The dining room and conservatory are very elegant and have been frequented over the years by many famous people, including Giuseppe Verdi, Gioacomo Puccini, Arturo Toscanini, Maria Callas, Charlie Chaplin, Prince Rainier and Princess Grace (Kelly) of Monaco, Frank Sinatra, Henry Ford, Ava Gardner, Erich Maria Remarque and Lana Turner to name just a few.
The restaurant prides itself in using only the finest and freshest ingredients from all over Italy. If you choose for example a Bellini, the peaches are sourced from a farmer's market in Sicily. They are hand cut and pureed at the premises.

Our own experience was good, and we recommend you visit Savini, when you are in Milan. It started with a slight disappointment, though. We were craving something sweet at around 13.00 hours, so we went into the restaurant and asked for a table. It's a classy establishment, but with a relaxed atmosphere. Unfortunately there was only lunch service available, so we checked out, if we could come back later. Tea and Coffee was served from 15.00 hours. We whiled a few hours away at La Rinascente, the department store.
When we returned we were seated at a more private space inside the restaurant. If you want to be seen, you need a table in the conservatory. For us it was just right. We prefer privacy and a quieter place anyway.
The patisserie offers a wide selection of delectable desserts and cakes. Deciding what to choose was difficult. My better half spied one of his favorite desserts: ice cream or sorbets with fruit salad. Again there were at least six different ice cream sorts and sorbets to choose from. He was in a bend what to take. After discussing with me the issue, he made up his mind.
Soon a waiter arrived to take our order. EW had a hot chocolate, tangerine and forest berry sorbet with fruit salad. I chose Cappuccino and a tiramisu. I wanted a comparison between the one we had had at the Hyatt (see review) and this one. Unfortunately there was a very small glitch. Even though, the restaurant employs a lot of staff, it still seems to be too few. They are too busy for their own good, and mistakes happen, when too much is going on. Another waiter arrived with my coffee, my better half's hot chocolate and his dessert, but there was no sight of the tiramisu. We waited for a few minutes, thinking, because the tiramisu was coming from the patisserie and not from the kitchen, I might still get it without reminding one of the waiters. Unfortunately I was really forgotten. The waiter apologized. After a short wait I had my dessert as well. While the Hyatt has a modern version, Savini's is traditional. The tiramisu was shaped like a flower and dusted with cocoa. Both were very tasty, and I would eat each one again. The Cappuccino was strong and hot, just perfect. I tried his hot chocolate, which was rich, and the sorbets. They were intense in flavor and delicious. He liked my dessert too. When we asked for the bill, it arrived promptly and was 60 Euro / 77 USD.

Some comment in regards to the staff: They are friendly, make you feel welcome and are unobtrusive. All encountered were fluent in English.

Savini has also a gift shop on the first floor.

Park Hyatt Milan, Italy

Here is the long awaited travel report of the Park Hyatt Milan. A separate review of the Savini is following.

We had accumulated points with Hyatt over the years, so we decided to use some of them. After checking out different properties we decided to book the Park Hyatt Milan.
Our first contact was by requesting limousine transfer from the airport to the hotel. The concierge dealt with it friendly and efficient. They have a Mercedes E-Class or S-Class on offer. The price difference was quite large (120 Euro, ca 154 USD versus 240 Euro, ca. 306 USD), so we decided to go for the E-Class. We arrived at Milan Linate Airport with Aer Lingus. Our driver was already waiting and escorted us to the car. The journey took twenty minutes. We were greeted at the hotel by the bell captain and door man and again escorted to the check in desk. Check in was a breeze. The gentleman confirmed we were staying on points and took a swipe of my credit card for any extras. He then showed us where the restaurants, bar and spa are located and accompanied us to our room. It was located on the second floor. The room was large and uncluttered. The ceilings were very high, I guess around three or four meter. The receptionist explained the features of the room and left us alone afterwards.
There was a huge marble writing desk, a king sized bed and a sofa, a small round wooden table, a flat screen TV and a glass table. The walls were ochre. I liked the idea that the glass cabinet was in the room, while the mini bar, safe and wardrobe were located in the bath room. The amenities came from Laura Tonnato, a perfumer from Turin . The quality was very high and we enjoyed using the products. We had one sink with ample space for our beauty and cleaning products. Walking further the bath tub was to the left and a huge shower cubicle with a hand held and rain shower. Because the shower was so large and comfy, the bath tub was a little bit awkward angled. We had to climb in from the front, not from the side, which would be usual. At first I panicked I wouldn't get in or out, but it proved to be easier than thought. Both of us enjoyed using the shower and the bath tub. In a separate room was the toilet and bidet.
The bed allowed for a good rest by the way and there was an orchid and alarm clock on the night stand. The TV channels were okay. Unfortunately the English movie channel showed very old films and when it broadcasted newer ones, they were only in Italian. There was also CNN and a business channel available. Of course we didn't come to Milan to watch TV.
We were unlucky with the weather and besides a few hours on one evening of our two night stay, it did rain constantly. The Park Hyatt provided umbrellas, which came in handy.
On our first afternoon we had a late lunch at La Cupola Lobby Lounge. It is a beautiful, understated environment. The focus of the space is the Medusa's Head (sculpture) by Lucio Fontana and of course as the name suggests the glass dome. To get to the restaurant VUN and Park bar, one has to go through La Cupola.
The waiters were friendly, efficient and unobtrusive. We ordered a large bottle of water, smoothies, grilled fish with vegetables and Milanese veal cutlets with potatoes. The food and beverages are really expensive, but the highest quality, so we soon forgot about the price. The smoothies range from 15 Euro to 19 Euro (ca. 20 USD to ca. 25 USD); they are created by a nutritionist and especially healthy. The smoothies are served like they are coming from a laboratory, but all the ingredients are natural. Entrees start at 24 Euro up to 31 Euro (ca. 30 USD to ca. 40 USD). Desserts cost all 14 Euro (ca. 18 USD). It is quite normal to spend around 120 Euro (ca. 154 USD) for each meal, depending what you choose for breakfast it costs around 80 Euro (ca. 103 USD).
The rest of the time we had in room dining, including pasta with clams in a spicy sauce, pasta with vegetable and cheese sauce, French Toast, yogurt, Tiramisu, more smoothies and coffee. The cappuccino is really good here. We loved eating at the hotel. Everything was a delight.
I had a look at the spa treatments. The average cost was also 120 Euro (ca. 154 USD).
The location of the hotel is outstanding. The Galleria Vittorio Emanuel II. is just a few steps away. The Duomo and La Scala are in walking distance.
The Galleria contains every designer brand imaginable from Louis Vuitton to Prada. There are also a few restaurants - we went to Savini -, bars (especially memorable is the Gucci Bar) and a McDonalds.
Another favorite of mine was a souvenir shop. It sold also paintings. One was a bit naughty. It depicts a couple of priests praying and walking on a street. The last priest isn't concentrating on the bible, but looks up and sees to his amazement a bare breasted lady and is distracted...
Another of our favorite haunts was the department store La Rinascente. It offers more designer brands, cosmetics and a huge food hall with more restaurants.
The day before our departure I contacted the concierge to organize transportation to the airport. It was very easy going and went smoothly.
When we arrived in the lobby the next morning the concierge greeted us by name and directed us to one of the receptionists, who took care of our check out. She was friendly, warm and efficient. Afterwards everyone came with us outside to say good bye. The limousine was already waiting.
We were exceptionally satisfied with our stay. It was flawless. We loved the room, the friendly staff and the food. We would return in a heartbeat.

The Train Conductor

This story contains sex and black mail. It also means the return of Chastity, Flanky and Cranky.
The inspiration behind this story was a trip to Belfast by train in First Class. Our compartment was literally empty with comfortable seats and tables. EW and I could have "made out" if we had liked. Of course we are well behaved, so we didn't do anything indecent, but Chastity is a different matter... Hope you have as much fun reading it as I had writing it.

"Ticket, please." The train conductor entered the first class train compartment. Chastity Shelton was looking into her hand bag, where her ticket should have been. Chastity realized her husband Giovanni had taken it with him by mistake, when he disembarked at the previous stop, where he had a business meeting. What was she going to do now? She didn't want to pay a fine. Chastity damned her bad luck. Under other circumstances she might have wriggled out of the situation easily, because she was beautiful with black hair, dark skin and balloon sized breasts. This time it was going to prove more difficult. The train conductor arrived at her seat and repeated the request. Chastity pretended to look frantically for her ticket. She noticed the train conductor was starring at her breasts. Maybe there was a glimmer of hope. "I'm sorry, I'm unable to find it, but I had it this morning." "Take your time, look for it, I'll come back later."

"Flanky, I told you leave them alone. Haven't you learned your lesson yet? Remember Blondie..." The muscular man scolded Flanky. To Chastity he said: "Excuse my cousin’s behavior. He has no manners at all. Please forgive us." "Ah, that's no problem. Do you want my business card, in case you decide to publicize it?" "N... No, that won't be necessary. I'll delete everything." Stammered Flanky. "Thank you very much, guys. Have a great time." Chastity released the men.
When they were gone, she burst out laughing. She loved it, when her plans worked.

30 Seconds


Just something short and "hot" for Monday. Hope you like it.

My Top 4 Hotels in Dublin

Okay, so I have stayed in all important hotels in Dublin over the years, some more frequent than others. The list is of course subjective. The Shelbourne and the Conrad share the third spot.

3. The Shelbourne - A Renaissance Hotel / Conrad

My Number One is the Merrion, because it offers the perfect hotel experience. Even though we stayed there over the very busy Christmas weekend, everything went flawless. The hotel has the only 2 Michelin Starred Restaurant Patrick Guilbaud in Ireland, the Cellar Restaurant (see also review) and Bar, Bar No. 23, the Drawing Rooms for Afternoon Tea and 24 hours in room dining. It has an E-Spa and an indoor swimming pool. The romantic garden and the artwork are inspirational. The entrance rooms are large, comfortable and show no wear and tear. The staff is accommodating, attentive, efficient and friendly. The food is of outstanding and priced accordingly. The location is also a plus. It's located in Georgian Dublin and just opposite Government Building.

The Four Seasons is only Number Two, because the rooms need an urgent renovation. Unfortunately it's not always as smooth running as we would like it, but first to the positives. The location is in Ballsbridge - a very affluent area of Dublin, near the RDS. It's a little bit outside the city center, but can be easily reached by taxi or public transport. The garden is beautiful with its fountain and interesting sculptures placed around the hotel. The food is very good. The staff is friendly and approachable. The rooms are large and comfortable. Its not that important, but there are no flat screen TVs on the rooms. I don't think there has been a renovation since opening. There are other small things we noticed. For example, in front of the public toilet was always a chair. Ideal for my better half, when he had to wait for me. Since our last visit its gone. Twice I tried to order a specific glass of Champagne on the menu, but it was on both occasions not available. Another time we ordered hot chocolate, which is one of the best and most lavish in town, it arrived in pots (2 to 3 cups) after waiting for a bit a and were poured a cup each. The waitress took the rest of the hot chocolate away without considering we would want to have the rest too.

The Shelbourne is the grand dame of Dublin, located in the heart of the city just across the road from St. Stephens Green Park. It's very beautifully restored and renovated. The staff is warm, helpful and knowledgeable. The food is very good. Because it's the social hub in Dublin, its very difficult to get a space, for example at the Lord Mayors Lounge or the Saddle Room without reservation, and I wouldn't recommend to arrive without one.
There is a club lounge/concierge lounge available, but it has only open during the week, and there are no free alcoholic beverages served.
The entrance rooms are small and dark. The layout can be odd too or the room difficult to find (due to the age of the hotel). The hotel has also downgraded the in room dining, bath room amenities and TV channels over the years. We visited the hotel on an open day and were impressed what a wide variety was available on the in room dining menu, astounded they had Ermenegildo Zegna products and CNN. When we returned a year later and at subsequent stays the in room dining was smaller (quality is good, though, and has an Irish touch), Emenegildo Zegna was gone, changed to White Company and then to an English company Pit Sniff (love it). CNN is also not available.
When staying here, I would recommend you book at least the Deluxe Rooms.

The Conrad is opposite the National Concert Hall. What can I say? It's a very solid hotel, the staff is friendly and efficient. It has one of the best breakfasts in town, huge choice of juices, smoothies and so on. Overall the quality of the food is good. When staying there I feel immediately at home and valued. They have Conrad merchandise for sale. The rooms again are comfortable, no flat screen TVs here either. I wouldn't recommend the entrance rooms (classic). They  have the same problem as the Shelbourne's in regards to size. We had also a Junior Suite. I loved it. It had a king sized bed, a seating area with biographies of Warren Beatty and Helen Mirren, loads of storage space and Acca Kappa bathroom amenities.
