As part of our Kota Kinabalu city tour we saw the Signal Hill Observatory Deck.
The Observatory Deck offers stunning views over most parts of KK and the sea. I would recommend to come with a guide when you do it the first time, because he or she can explain what you see.
It was interesting to hear about Colonial times and how much KK has grown. Originally I wasn't aware that most of KK was built on regained land.
The island and the city also have a World War II history. It was under Japanese occupation, but it was freed by Australian troops.
We could see a cruise ship, the harbour, a few hotels and much more. We enjoyed our time there and took a lot of photographs.
If you're feeling peckish, that's also covered. A cafe/shop selling snacks and drinks has been opened recently.
When we are back in KK we definitely will go up the hill again.
